Moody is a loving, quiet, well mannered girl who is crate/potty trained. She loves attention/rubs - throw the ball and she'll show you a zoomie or two, then she'll just chill out and give you a kiss or two. She has had her left eye removed due to severe glaucoma, but has adjusted well. Although she was not tested with kids, her foster feels she would be great with them because of her temperment. Her foster family also felt she will make an excellent family companion for life!
Adorable. sweet girl who loves to play ball with her human. She does need leash training as she tends to bite on the leash. She also wants to play with other dogs, but needs a meet and greet. Same for children. She is very treat motivated. The way to her heart is definitely thru her stomach!
Cookie is a fawn/brown 1-year-old spayed Am Staffy mix. Full-grown, She is only 37 lbs of bouncing happiness. She loves her toys, treats, and affection. Benny described as Big Bundle of Love! Happy boy who is super sweet & loving. Loves to be hugged by his humans. Highly treat motivated. Benny is 1.5 to 2 yr old. Based on his demeanor, he is likley good with other dogs. However, we recommend a meet and greet with kids or other dogs. Benny is a BIG puppy at heart who would like nothing better than to shower you with love!
Estephen is gorgeous, chill, and totally loves people. in Extremely affectionate and loving...he has those sad loving eyes that look right into your soul. Has not reacted to other dogs in kennels and just keeps walking by. He was cohoused with another female dog and loved her but since she was adopted and now gone, he has become very depressed it seems. He knows how to sit. Take treats gently. Always recommend meet and greets when other dogs are in the home to ensure they are okay with one another as well. He is approximately 4 years of age and weighs 53 lbs - his foster from Texas goes on and on about him being the best dog ever. He was heartworm positive but has already completed the treatment. Please come and meet this handsome boy! You won't be sorry! Text or call my cell if interested 570-441-0083. Adoption requires a brief application.
Coke is approximately 5-6 y/o described by his foster mom as quiet and friendly. He is good with strangers, and although he has not been exposed to children, his demeanor does not point to problems. Would recommend a meet and great though. His foster household including two other dogs that he interacted well with. He will make someone a great companion.
Tall, Dark, and Handsome boy is 6 years old and 76 lbs. Has not been around cats, small dogs or small children. Koffie is chilled and a big lap dog. He loves hanging out with humans and will make a great family dog.
Yogi is a neutered black & brown Kelpie/Shepherd mix. He is approx 2 years old, 57 lbs, and heartworm negative. Yogi is a young energetic pup that's always ready to play and would do great with an active family. He might be too excited for small children. Yogi loves treats and getting pets. He has been okay with other dogs but a meet & greet is always recommended. Cat compatibility is unknown but we can test upon request.

This sweet boy is good with adults but unsure if okay with kiddos. He has done well meeting calm dogs but meet & greet is always recommended. Cat compatibility unknown
Cody is a beautiful young adult that is ready to have a loving home! He is very quiet and calm in the crate and easy to walk outside. He came all the way from Texas and was abandoned by a rescue after being pulled out of a shelter along with two other dogs. He seems crate trained. He does not go potty in his crate. He goes outside instead so we believe he is housetrained. He is Heartworm negative and also vaccinated with all core vaccines. He seems to be dog friendly and adult friendly. We still have to test him around children and cats if someone is interested with how he does w children or cats she can expedite the testing, just let me know. Or if interested in meeting this quiet boy message me at 5704410083. Thank you!
Grinch must have been named for his wrinkly face because he is not like the Grinch who stole Christmas...he is more like the Grinch who stole your heart! He is very sweet and loving...gets a little excited when playing. Needs some basic leash training but what rescue dog doesn't...?? He is very smart just needs a little time put in to his obedience/leash training. He was a little scared of men if he is in an enclosed area...probably feels like he can escape the bad guys...but he has gotten much better in the time he has been with us and we think he is gotten over that. He has the most beautiful golden brown eyes and that smoochy face you just want to kiss! If interested in making him part of your pack text me at 570-441-0083 and you can meet him and meet and greets are recommended if you have any other dogs in the home so we can ensure it's a good fit! He is currently receiving treatment to cure the heartworm. He will be treated here at the rescue but can go home at any time as long as he can be brought back for a couple injections over two months. Rescue takes care of all expenses for the treatment given at the rescue.
Rollo is a sweet loving and playful guy! He is full of puppy play and is amazingly gorgeous. We are guessing he is a mix of German Shepherd and Lab . He is a big boy and likely to get bigger as he is only about 10-11 months. Come meet this gorgeous guy! If interested text or call me 570-441-0083. Also the application is available on our website rescuepetsservingvets.org
Loki Bell is 2-3 years old and about 50 lbs. He loves toys and can play fetch for hours. He is always ready for adventure and will make the best running partner. He has done well other dogs but meet and greet is always recommended.
Coco was surrendered at no fault of her own. She is crate and potty trained. She is quite the beauty who is shy & quiet around people initially. Once comfortable, she loves to lay her head on your neck & rest on you during quiet times - a cuddle bug! She is unsure about other dogs because she was the only princess in the household. She is very smart and is happiest when working with specific tasks. She knows sit, down, shake, and high 5. Meet & greet with dogs and kids recommended. She will be a loyal companion to her family!
Diamond is a 2 year old spayed female. We believe her to be a mix of blue Doberman and perhaps Lab or GSD. She is so unique it is hard to guess. As beautiful as she is it did not stop her previous owners from tying her to a light pole and leaving her there to stave. She is very attentive and attention seeking with humans. She is good sitting for treats and wait patiently if you ask her to wait for a treat. She is a very smart girl and has had no accidents in her crate so she is crate trained. And she was briefly in a house and they said she is housetrained as well. She would do best as an only pet we believe. She liked to chase cats. She seems to be dog selective and better with males than females. We have not tested her yet with smaller dogs. She is very good with adults and kids . She is also heartworm positive so she is a month into the treatment almost. She had no symptoms of the infection so we believe it to be early stages of infection. She is almost done with the month of antibiotics required, then 30 days later she gets one injection. Another month later she will receive her last 2 injections one day apart. Please come and meet this little sweet babe!
Apple is a 58 lb 7-8 yr old American Staffordshire mix that has one blind eye from a stab wound. She was protecting her owner and later ended up abandoned at the animal shelter by the same owner. She is almost finished with her heartworm treatment. We cover that for cost and do it at the rescue. She is such a sweet dog! Has gotten along with other dogs but doesn't like them in her face. So probably a meet and greet would be recommended for anyone with another dog or she would be great as an only pet because she loves to give lovin to people! Please think about this sweet girl she deserves a happy ending after the hell she has been through. Text 570-441-0083 if interested in Apple and applications are available on our site rescuepetsservingvets.org
BuBu is a sweet handsome boy! He is fun loving happy go Lucky guy! His issue is he has to meet men with a proper introduction. It's pretty obvious some guy was not so nice to him. Once he trusts you he is great. We love to take him out for a little walk! He is not a puller on the leash. He seems like he would like to play with dogs but unsure of himself. He is house and crate trained. Loves his chew toys. He craves attention from people and loves to give it back! He can meet you anytime cause he wants to get the heck out of Dodge!
Flash is a handsome, sweet, adorable boy. He is dog friendly. He is very smart and knows many commands already. Flash was with a foster family with baby, but not older children. Recommend a meet a greet for that reason.. He will make someone a wonderful companion!
This tiny chunk of a love muffin is called Asher! He is 35 lbs about 3 yrs old and quite the character! Beautiful subtle brindle coat and beautiful striking eyes. Timid for about the first 10 min then he gets silly...come meet Asher at our rescue! He is good with other dogs given a proper introduction. Has not been tested yet with cats but can be tested with cats upon request. If interested please text 570-441-0083 Casey.
Kay is truly a sweetheart. Has lived her life outside in a backyard on a chain being bred over and over again. The owners didn't see any problem with that. Even being in heat around males of hers from two previous litters. Although this history of Kay's is heartbreaking she still has a hunger for human love and attention. She is some sort of mix with longer soft fur compared to an American Staffordshire but you can see come of her characteristics also resemble that breed. She is good on leash and doesn't go potty in her crate! So housetraining is already accomplished or would be super easy. She seems to be ok with other dogs but once in a while will give one low growl when she first meets a new dog. We call this a gentle correction as she is letting the other dogs know that she does not want to be mounted anymore or dominated. She seems great with kids and male /female humans. We are hoping that after all she has been through we can find he a safe comfy home for this 3 year old. If someone has cats please let us know if you would like her cat tested. If interested text 570-441-0083 Casey's cell phone
Hi my name is Scooby, I'm a neutered 1yr old Lab/Hound mix, I am a very large and weigh 55 lbs, but very nice dog. I was heartworm +, but I am getting medicine and am not contagious. I was cat tested but I don't like them. If you would like to see me then please fill out an application on rescuepetsservingvets.org I hope to see a lot of people and find my furever home.
Fiona is looking for her home. We think it will take time probly....She is 2 years old, spayed, heartworm negative and about 45 pounds. Fiona is a little fearful of men, but once they give her a hamburger and a little time she warms up. She has been fearful of very young kids. She did not test well with cats . She's a little nervous here at the rescue and would love a nice warm place to call home. We could see her doing well with a single woman perhaps or a couple w a quiet home. She's extremely sweet once she trusts you. Text Casey if you'd like to meet Fiona 570-441-0083!
Look at this face. Look at these eyes. This is Pearl. She is supposedly 5 yr old. She is a product of human depravity. She is 35 lbs and spent her whole life with a 30lb plus chain and padlock around her neck, living outside in the dust and rain and scorching heat. She was bred repeatedly and her pups used to make money or worse. She was never given medical care or heartworm prevention, leading to her ultimately having heartworm infection. She has now been cured of the heartworm infection and is now negative. The weight of the chain around her neck for so many years has caused her to be bow legged in the front and we think she may be suffering from arthritis based on her gate. Or perhaps some sort of osteoporosis from losing too much calcium to breeding so many puppies. Her ears were cropped with scissors and her eyes show the horror of living such a life. They seem to reflect a sadness that never goes away. She is now spayed after she was confiscated from her owners. She is vaccinated. She is housetrained now! She still shivers in fear even though she willingly accepts pets and chin rubs. Grilled chicken is one of her favorite things in life now and a soft place to lay down on...but what we can't give her is a loving home or new owner that will show her not all humans are evil. We need someone to step up for her. Someone willing to give her daily joint supplements along with hugs and kisses. Please think about meeting this sweet little girl. She is learning what it means to be off a chain. Help her learn what it means to be in a home filled with compassion and love, not hate and abuse. She was in a home for several months during her heartworm treatment and just recently she got into a scuffle with the other male dog. No one was home and know one knows who started it but they were fighting over a item they considered a chew toy. Because of this incident she had to leave the home and come back to our rescue. We are recommending a home with not other dogs because of this incident. She does not act aggressive towards dogs passing by or next to her in the kennel. She just may have resource guarding issues with other dogs, certainly not people.
Cookie is a fawn/brown 1 year old spayed Am Staffy mix. She's 39 lbs of bouncing happiness. She loves her toys, treats, and affection. Cookie would do great with an active family or jogging buddy. Compatibility with small children or cats is unknown and a meet & greet is always recommended with other dogs in the household.
